Would you consider yourself healthy? Based on what criteria?

Let us take a quick look at what being healthy means.

When we think about health, the first thought that often comes to mind is a particular set of imagery that is evocative of a fit human without any illness, smiling and working out.

Arguably, and most probably, that person that comes to mind would be healthy. Yet, it might not always be the case. Why? Because health encompasses multiple dimensions of what it means to be a human-being living in a ever-more dynamic society, not just being fit.

As of today, there are numerous takes and debates on the assignation of the various dimensions or spheres of health, but they can all mostly be encompassed as sub-entries in the following list, in no particular order:

Physical

Cognitive

Spiritual

Emotional

Social

Resources

Hereby, being healthy is not just the absence of disease and being fit, but can rather be thought of as an ever-shifting equilibrium or homeostasis between the before-mentioned spheres in a particular human-being; member of a dynamic society.

In the following series of posts, we will dive deep into each proposed sphere to then come back at the end of these series, and take a look at the big picture; then observing how these dimensions interact with each other.

If you have any questions, comments or concerns, please send a message!

Look forward to hearing from you.
