Table 1. Concise description of each of the six dimensions of health.
Dimension | Description |
Physical | Weight, nutrition, exercise, sleep, preventive medicine, and early diagnosis. |
Cognitive | SWOT* awareness, stress and time management skills, planning, goal setting, and decision making. |
Emotional | Identify, understand, process and use emotions in our favor with intelligence, and the understanding of the mind-body connection. |
Social | Our ability to create and maintain strong social support networks with positive, nurturing, meaningful relationships and cultivate friendships, families, and communities. |
Resources | Financial literacy and skills to best manage the economic retribution from our occupational and professional endeavors to reach our goals and aspirations, and a state of well-being that allows the rest. |
Spiritual | Our personal relationship with an ultimate power/energy, our faith, and our journey to answer existential questions in the search for a higher purpose and greater meaning of life. |
